Question:
Dear Readers, I live in Pottsville, PA. My psychiatrist’s from West Chester. He’s not much help. He pays no attention. He ignores me. He won’t return a call. Yours Truly, Dominick
Response:
Possibly you may have to go to an emergency unit and tell them that you may injure yourself. Medical professionals cannot ignore that. You should not be committed for that. Being violent and threatening others because of poor mental health might. But not your case. You don’t seem like you can kick butt right now. Just try it. Carrie

I went to psych triage a month ago, the nurse and pdoc didn’t want to help me. It was a Friday and I was frantic for help. The only way they would allow me in was under warrant. I told her "Yeah I’m suicidal" and went in. Later on I told them I was not really suicidal, and they marked me as voluntary, so I could avoid seeing the judge. Imho you need help NOW Dommininck. Why do you use a psychiatrist who is located in West Chester? I think you need someone who is closer to you, Dominick.

Dominick, Find a new psychiatrist. My psychiatrist believes everything I tell him. That’s good, as I find it difficult to accept that I have a disorder. I have always thought, and continue to think, that I have control of my life. Reality differs. He thinks I’m well on the road to recovery. Silly man! Last weekend I took a blanket, pillow and photograph out into the woods near the pond. I also took several bottles of pills. Fortunately/Unfortunately…someone let "Mike" out of his kennel and he came to keep me company. Compulsive behaviours keep me depressed. They also alienate people I care about. Question? If you have a friend who suffers from depression, why can’t that person understand your unique form of depression? They certainly work hard at justifying their own type of depression. Am I the only one who suffers from obsessive/compulsive behaviours? Shoo/Jean

Not a long time, really. > I think we all have a touch of OCD in one form or another, some of us > are just more honest about than others.
I’m not talking about a "touch of OCD". Yes, I’m not truthful and open about OCD. I find it degrading that I could suffer from this disorder. I know that I can not hide this from people, but fortunately the people who I work with accept me as I am. They make jokes, but I find it best to laugh right along. My come back is ‘cleanliness is close to God’. > I hope you have been well, is it a good thing or a bad thing that > you’ve come back? > Deborah
I think it’s a good thing for me to be back. Isolation, in one’s disorder is not a good thing. How could my coming back to the NG be a bad thing? I thought this was a "safe" place for people to be? Perhaps, I was mistaken. Is this a question you ask all people who respond to a post. How could things be good if you read my reply to Dominick?
