    Question:

7 yrs ago I was diagnosed with BPll rapid cycling, since that time I have tried 40 different meds in combinations and alone. 2 yrs ago they discovered I had hepatis C, (which I believe the pd caused) so use of any drugs that would go thru the liver was discontiued. Currently I am taking 50 mg Topamax with 2 mg Klonopin. I have noticed the maniacs are worse and depression is deeper. Husband is so concerned with my lack of judgment that he has taken all control of the money and I feel like a nothing. Can someone please give me a clue as to what meds could be tried next.  My new pd listens to me and is willing to try different meds in search of the correct one. Thank you

I am going to go through my drug faq’s tonight, so I will email you about the newer mood stabilizers Neurontin and Lamictal (sp?).  I do want to say this to you…don’t feel like a nothing.  FOR NOW… for now, your husband has control of the finances.  This will change as you stabilize.  It’s nothing to be ashamed of.  My husband also took control of the finances when it was apparent that I couldn’t handle it.  When you are ready to handle it, slowly take back what you think that you can handle. Remission and recovery are not times when you need a lot of stress. Goodluck to you and I will read my drug faq’s and get back to you. Marette
