Chinese Proverb – "You can only go halfway into the darkest forest; then you are coming out the other side" A good reminder for those really dark days that seem like they’ll never end! Susan

"It isn’t for the moment you are struck that you need courage, but for  the long uphill climb back to sanity and faith and security."  - Anne Morrow Lindbergh Oh, Ms. Morrow, how mistaken you are. Courage is needed for those moments (days, weeks and lifetimes) when you are stuck, as well as for the rest of the time when, once unstuck, one is climbing back into the daylight. I send this with a double-dose of courage for all my asdr friends who are going through tough times, not limited to, but especially thinking of KCatPaws, TresPat, Lindsay, Anne (because it must be cold there), SneexinPA, Dick, Jane, willow, DazzyDeb (welcome home), webbie, and Myron. Even tough times have a way of passing.  Hold on to what good you can get until they pass off. Oh, and extra special "Hi y’all" to Tom and Marlys, may they be experiencing some of the good. quote by the jazz piano teacher at school. "i’ve heard bands that can play all the right notes but just haven’t got the swing. without the feel it’s like we used to say, like dragging queen mary through an ocean of mars bars. It’s just not gonna happen" Sam P.S. interesting rehearsal today. he called me up to fill in for a bass player in another jazz band and while i was there he went on about how our band was so much more experience and how this band should come and watch us. and then said how fortunate they were for having me come along because i really made the rhythm section sound good and the feel and stuff is heaps better. to top it off he said ‘do you wanna do a bass solo in this one?’ and i shrugged and he goes ‘yes or no?’ and i go ‘yeah why not’ and he goes ‘ok. i’ll do two choruses, then the sax player can do two then you can do a one chorus solo and then we’ll swap 4’s the drummer’ and i’m like ‘right ok’. so we get to my bit in the song and i start ripping out this really cool jazz bass solo (in C Jam Blues if anyone knows it) and at the end of the first chorus he goes ‘take a second chorus’. i think i impressed him… hehe…anyway. a bit oT but yeah.
